Embedded BT client?

Just a suggestion why not give users a option to download torrents via BitLet the embedded BT client which can be found here?

Re: Embedded BT client?

I have been in contact with the developer and he is going to do some adjustments before we can try it out.

Re: Embedded BT client?

Hehe, it's not working today because Bitlet is using the browsers user-agent (name of client) which is not allowed by our tracker.

Re: Embedded BT client?

Gotcha, cant you guys just allow it via the GU tracker or is it easy for the guys at Bitlet to do it there end?

Re: Embedded BT client?

I think it is an easy fix, he said he would add it in the next release.

Re: Embedded BT client?

Sounds like an excellent addition to GU. Plus it's good for the user as well, they don't have to install a BitTorrent client and it's easier to download torrents.

Re: Embedded BT client?

Dennis have posted a temporary link to BitLet for each torrent.
Give it a try and tell us what you think

Re: Embedded BT client?

It's looking good as far as I can see. It should definitely help GU users who want a platform agnostic BitTorrent client.

Re: Embedded BT client?

It's being run off a web page through the Java Virtual Machine, it would take a hit on the speed somewhat though if you have a BitTorrent client installed in your OS, that'll be a lot faster.
